Unigamma PLUS


PLUS

Unigamma PLUS is the newest multi-detector, fan beam bone densitometer manufactured by l'acn. The 5-channel architecture allows reduced scan times and better image resolution. Moreover, the small fan-beam configuration minimizes the geometrical distortion, even on whole body scans. For special applications, it is also possible to use the unit in a pencil-beam mode, using only the central channel. The performances of PLUS are enhanced by a clear and easy to read graphical presentation of the results. Displaying and printing of the results may be performed in color or black and white mode. Ink Jet or Laser printer are supplied with Unigamma .



Double energy

radiant source : 86 KV x - rays, collimated with a cylindrical hole of 2mm Ø, depth 40 mm. Energy splitting by
Samarium filter : 35 KV and 75 KV. With this system the scan speed has been improved. Scan time is only 50 % of that required for the former single energy method.
Low exposure

The patient exposure is lower than 100 µS for a forearm survey and lower than 500 µS (5 mR) for the other surveys. The scan times considered are 6 min. for femur and spine, 4 min. for forearm and 20 min. for totalbody. Exposure to the operator is null at 1 m of distance.





Quality control

quality control on line with automatic recording of internal reference standard for every scan. It is possible to store the measures of the reference standard supplied with PLUS to perform statistical controls calibration : autocalibrating system with check of internal reference standard before any scan and automatic centering of the peaks of the radiant beam.

Laser pointer

The starting point of every scan is obtained using a laser pointer. This method allows fast and repeatable positioning of the patient.

Windows software

The windows software to drive PLUS is a big progress in bone densitometry. It is a powerful tool to acquire and analyze the scans, thanks to the high speed and to the simple use of the operating environment Microsoft Windows. The most part of the operations are performed with simple mouse clicks using the graphical user interface of windows.

PLUS permits to analyze all corporeal districts of medical interest:

Spine
Femur
Forearm
all district to scan and all the other scan parameters can be selected directly by the operator.
GAMMADENSIT DEXA

Gammadensit Dexa

The execution and the analysis of the scan require not more than 6 - 8 min. at all. The measure technique is the classic DEXA ( Dual Emission X-ray Absorptiometry ). The patient exposure is reduced to a minimum by the low emission current of the X-ray tube. The exposure to the operator is zero at one meter of distance.

Energy splitting by Cerium filter: 30 KV and 70 KV.
With this system the scan speed has been improved. Scan time is only 50% of that required for the former single energy method.

Easy transportation

Gammadensit consists of a main body set on wheels, which dimensions (80 x 130 x 55 cm) allow its shifting through corridors or doorways not larger than 60 cm. It can also be loaded easily on a small truck and brought around, for home based scans for example.

TOMOGAMMA DEXA


Tomogamma Dexa

In the past it was not possible to use the scoutview ( the planar scan preceding the tomographical scan ) for diagnostical purpose. The scoutview was in fact performed using single energy technique. Nowadays TOMOGAMMA DEXA uses a dual energy X - ray beam to produce a scan good for diagnostics yet since the scoutview phase. More, TOMOGAMMA DEXA ensures a more precise location of the consequent tomoscan thanks to the better brightness of imaging.

Tomogamma Dexa is supplies with a use friendly windows program which permits to enclose every survey in one program window, each containing the tomographical sections, the scoutview and a reference curve. So many surveys can be opened simultaneously in different windows and compared easily. The windows operating environment ensure easy use of the program and easy handling of the Tomogamma Dexa system. Data is displayed and printed in color or black and white. In one single report, Tomogamma shows the density of the trabecular component of the bone, not longer masked by the cortical, thus exalting the diagnostic importance of this powerful research device.
